Pumala, M. (MTT Agrifood Research Finland, Vakola (Finland). Agricultural Engineering Research)
Liquid manure tanks made of concrete of the quality minimum K30 are tight enough to store slurry. The joints of concrete slurry tank elements have to be casted with concrete specially designed for joints. Concrete blocks can be used as building material for liquid manure stores only when the inner surface of the tank is carefully coated. Light gravel blocks can be used only when the inner surface is coated with plastic. Concrete blocks can be used to build up dry manure stores and Leca blocks can be used when the inner surface of the store is coated with mortar
