By the use of indicated, serological, electro-conductive and microscopic methods the following viruses affecting pepper have been identified in Georgia: BTM, BCM, potato viruses X and Y. Enumerated virus diseases influence plant growth and development negatively, reduce the yield and cause deteriration of commodity quality. In case of pepper the better effect in disease prevention has been shown by presowing treatment of seeds by thermic and biologically active substances.
