The energy content of matured 5. instar larva of both sexes grown on different food plants in rainy season was evaluated. The larvae of both sexes raised on sal (Shorea robusta) food plant accumulated significantly highest amount of energy (Joules) in rainy season followed by the larvae grown on asan (Terminalia tomentosa), arjun (Terminalia arjuna) and ber (Zizyphus jujuba). The amount of energy allocated towards cocoon preparation and post-larval life was significantly highest in sal grown larvae of both sexes followed by asan, arjun and ber in rainy season
