Feeding carp in pond mostly means complementing natural food resources by cereals, artifical feed or other usual substances. However, there are remarkable differences in contents of crude protein between these of feeds. Overfeeding with crude protein may cause an imbalance of protein-energy ratio. In consequence of this, ammonia/ammonium prodouction of metabolism increases and health problems, for example gill diseases, occur.
