African catfish (Clarias gariepinus) is a species of great economic importance, which is bred in Hungary. Its easy propagation and simple rearing technology, made it an ideal experimental animal. That is why we have chosen in the subject of our investigations. Our aim was to find the exact timing of fertilization and the closing of the micropyle by two simple experiments.
