Cardiomyopathy in cats. Review.

Cardiomyopathies are within the most frequently occuring cardiovascular disorders in cats. Their classification can follow the possible causes (primary-secondary form), or hemodynamical changes (hypertrophic, dilating, restrictive, transitional forms). The author in his article describes the characteristics of circulatory disorders, their clinical signs and the diagnostic methods that can be used to detect them (ECG, radiography, ultrasound) with special attention to differential diagnosis. Possible therapy is also suggested by the author emphasising experiences with the different treatment methods.
