A field experiment was carried out in simple irrigation lowland rice to study the effect of a distance of tablet urea application on several rows of lowland rice direct sowing (Tabela) at Muara, Bogor, during the wet season 1995/96. The experiment was arranged in split plot design with three replications. A distance between the rows were 20 cm, 30 cm, 40 cm and double rows 50 cm - 25 cm (Legowo) as a main plot. The sub plots consisted of distance application of tablet urea: 20 cm, 30 cm, 40 cm and 50 cm. Memberamo variety was used in this experiment with 50 kg dry seed/ha. Tablet urea was incorporated at 21 days after sowing. The results indicated that there were no significant differences on the effects of a distance tablet urea application and a distance between the rows of direct sowing. Although, there was a tendency of rice yield increase with a distance between the rows was arranged at 30 cm and a distance of tablet urea application about 30 cm with three tablets
