[Effect of planter utilization in direct seeding rice]

The study of planter utilization in direct seeding rice was carried out at Kecamatan Metro Raya, Lampung Tengah MT I 1997. The treatments consisted of direct seeding with planter and manual direct seeding. The area of land assessment was 1250 m2 and the investigated-plot size was 1 x 1 m with five replications. The variety of rice was IR-64. The result showed that utilization of planter increased efficiency of time and labour in rice farming system, but the yield of rice with planter was lower than that with manual seeding
