The best composition for pulsing solution of cut flowers of Dendrobium Sonia Deep Pink

The experiment was conducted to find out the appropriate composition of pulsing solutions to prolong the vaselife of Dendrobium Sonia Deep Pink. In this experiment, three different composition of pulsing solutions (500 ppm AgNO3 + 10 percent sucrose + 150 ppm citric acid; 500 ppm AgNO3 + 10 percent sucrose; aquadest) and four different of dipping times (30; 60; 90; and 120 minutes) were tested. A factorial Randomized Block Design was used with four replications. The results of the experiment indicated that pulsing solution of 500 ppm AgNO3 + 10 percent sucrose + 150 ppm citric acid and dipping for 90 minutes was the best treatment with vaselife of 16.4 days (5 days longer than control); bud opening of 81.89 percent and total solution uptake of 7.67 ml/stem during expose. By using the pulsing solution the period of flower freshness could be extended and the number of bud opening could be increased./Percobaan dilaksanakan untuk memperoleh komposisi larutan perendam (pulsing) yang tepat guna memperpanjang masa kesegaran bunga potong Dendrobium Sonia Deep Pink. Dalam penelitian ini digunakan tiga jenis larutan pulsing (500 ppm AgNO3 + 10 persen sukrosa + 150 ppm asam sitrat; 500 ppm AgNO3 + 10 persen sukrosa; dan air suling sebagai kontrol) dan empat taraf waktu perendaman (30, 60, 90, dan 120 menit), dan dilaksanakan dalam percobaan faktorial dengan Rancangan Acak Kelompok dengan ulangan empat buah. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pulsing dengan larutan perendam 500 ppm AgNO3 + 10 persen sukrosa + 150 ppm asam sitrat selama 90 menit memberikan hasil terbaik, yaitu umur peragaan (vaselife) bunga potong mencapai 16,4 hari (5 hari lebih lama dibanding kontrol) dengan persentase pemekaran kuncup bunga 81,89 persen dan jumlah larutan penyerapan terbesar 7,67 ml/tangkai selama masa peragaan. Penggunaan larutan perendam dapat memperpanjang masa kesegaran bunga dan juga dapat meningkatkan pemekaran kuncup bunga.
