Situmorang, R. (Institut Pertanian Bogor (Indonesia). Fakultas Pertanian)
The objective of this research was to examine the effect of zeolite and ZA applications on the growth, yield and quality of ginger. A split-plot design was used in this research. Urea and ZA were placed as main plot and Zeolite was placed as sub plot. The dosage of zeolite applied was 0 (control), 1, 2, 3, ton/ha. The examined parameters were chemical properties of the soil before and after treatment, percentage of wealthy, stress and died of ginger, diameter, and weight of ginger's tuber. The results show that zeolite increased diameter and weight of tuber. The ZA treatments significantly affected the tuber weight, pH, sulfur, and potassium content of the soil. Interaction between zeolite and fertilizers (Urea/ZA) application also significantly affected the tuber diameter. The tuber produced in this experiment fulfills the export-quality standard
