The experment was conducted to compare different micro-sprinkler and sruface irrigation layouts with different planting geometry in summer groudnnut in respect of yields, water requirement, water use efficiency and its economics. The results indicated that the broad bed furrow (BBF) coupled with micro-sprinklers at 150 x 150 cm was superior over other micro-sprinkler and surface irrigation layouts in respect of dry pod (37.43 q/ha), kernel (26.71 q/ha) and haulm (49.76 q/ha) yeild with per cent increase of 48.6, 58.0 and 37.3, respectively over border irrigation. The seasonal water required for groundnut in summer was 68.2 cm in microsprinkler and 96.6 cm in surface irrigation treatmets. The water use efficiency (5.51 kg/ha mm) and the net extra income were also maximum (Rs. 8142/- per ha) in T2.
