Treatment of wheat seeds with NaCl solution decreased the germination rate of seeds with the increase in the days of germination. A decrease in amylase activity in germinating seeds under control was marked with a comparative inhibition of amylase activity in seeds under salinity stress. Both acid phosphatase and ATPase activity showed a decrease with the increase in germination period. However an increase in activity at higher salt concentration in germinating wheat seeds was observed.
