Effect of benzyladenine on photosynthesis and pigment concentration in the flag leaf and ear of wheat and triticale

The influence of benzyladenine (BA) on photosynthetic rate (Pn) and pigment content in the flag leaf and developing ear of wheat (PBW-343) and Triticale (DT-46) was examined. Six days after anthesis benzyladenine @ 2 æg/ear was injected with the help of microsyringe at the base of the mother shoot ear. Significant increase in pigment content and photosynthetic rate of flag leaf and developing ear was observed by BA application.
