A pot culture experiment was conducted in kharif, 1998 with black soil which is medium in phosphorus and low in zinc status to study the effect of graded leavels of P and Zn and their interaction effect on yield, nutrient uptake and oil content in JS - 335 variety of soybean. Optimum levels of P and Zn fertilization were fixed at P2Z3 (60 kg P2O5 ha-1, 30 kg Zn ha-1 level while, the maximum nutrient uptake also obtained at this level. In case of per cent translocation of nutrients iarger amounts of Mg, Ca and K were observed in stover and N,P,S and K were in seed, whereas root showed higherst amounts of K,P,Ca, and Mg. Application of phosphorus @ 60 Kg P2O5 ha-1 along with 30 Kg Zn ha-1 was found to be an appropriate combination to obtain highest nutrient uptake.
