Root rot and stem rot of berseem has of late becomea serious problem in India causing severe economic losses. Sixteen accessions including twelve induced tetraploid lines were screened under epiphytotic condition to find the resistnat lines. Twelve lines were categorised as susceptible or highly susceptible which include the widely cultivated variety Wardan. Three tetraploid accessions were found to be resistant to these diseases. One collection from Rajasthan was also found to be moderately resistant. The study will help in further fracing the resistance source for these diseases.
