Residues of cypermethrin in/on okra fruits were analysed at different time intervals by gas liquid chromatographic method when proprietary and prepared cypermethrin formulations were sprayed at recommended field dosages. Initial deposits were 1.52, 1.60, 1.58, 1.62 and 1.68 ppm for cypermethrin (proprietary( (T1), cypermethrin + (xylene + Triton X-100) (T2), cypermethrin + (xylene + Sapcomul52 B) (T3), cypermethrin + (Hexane + Triton X-100) (T4) and cypermethrin + (Toluene + Teepol) (T5) respectively. The residues of all cypermethrin formulations fell below detectable level of 0.5 ppm within 6.05 days after spraying. The half life values (t1/2) of cypermethrin formulations were 2.73, 2.69, 2.89, 3.01 and 4.07 for T1, T2, T3, T4 and T5 respectively. No phyto-toxicty symptoms were observed in any of the laboratory prepared formulations and the proprietary product at the recommended field dose.
