Treatments of Lom AKH at pupae increased the amount of carbohydrates and lipids in hemolymph of the greater wax moth, Galleria mellonella. Lom AKH evoked maximal response at a dose of 2.5 pmol (12.118 mg/ml), causing a 36.4% increase in hemolymph carbohydrate over control (8.882 mg/ml). At a dose of 1.25 pmol (9.898 mg/ml), the response was very low and most different from that of the control. Trehalose contents showed the highest level at a dose of 10 pmol (5.406 mg/ml). In the third assay, we observed a negative effect on the levels of lipid. Minimal response was obtained at 10 pmol (15.507 mg/ml), causing a 17% decrease in hemolymph lipid over control (18.770 mg/ml). Significant increase in the hemolymph lipid was obtained only with 2.5 pmol (24.101 mg/ml), causing a 28% increase in hemolymph lipid over control (18.770 mg/ml).
