The results showed that sole jute and sole radish always outyielded its intercropping treatments. Among the intercropping treatments, the highest jute seed yield was obtained from 2J:2R in 1994-95 (1.01 t/ha) and 3J:2R in 1995-96 (1.42 t/ha). After sole radish treatment, the highest radish yield was recorded from 1J:2R (21.98 t/ha) in 1994-95 and 1J:3R (16.88 t/ha) in 1995-96. The highest gross margin (Tk. 123,041/ha) was recorded from 3J:2R in 1994-95 and 3J:3R in 1995-96 (Tk. 92,305/ha). It was observed that the average higher yield of jute seed was in 1995-96 but the average higher yield of radish was in 1994-95. In this system, in addition to jute seed and radish, 2 to 3 t/ha of jute stick is also possible to produce, which is very essential for the needs of the rural households. The highest land equivalent ratio (LER) was recorded from 2J:3R in 1995 and 3J:3R in 1996. In the same way, the highest profitability index (118.79) was calculated from 3J:2R in 1994-95 and 3J:3R in 1995-96 (103.73)
