Growth comparision of green mussel (Perna viridis) cultured on three different seines

Study on growth of green mussel (Perna viridis) cultured on three different seines was conducted at Sriracha Fisheries Research Station, Sriracha, Chonburi, during August 1998 to April 1999. The samples were collected every month then shell-length, width and body weight were measured. The results are showed that there are not different (P0.1) between size of seines on growth of green mussel. After culture green mussel for 6 months it will be a marketable size with shell-length more than 5.3 centimeters. The seines cultured method will give the amouth of 40 kilograms of green mussel per 1 square meter and at the end of the experiment the number of 10.80 tons of green mussel are harvested.
