Ditrubution of bird endemism in Thua Thien Hue province

In the last years the white combed blue pheasants (Lophura edwardsi) were found at Phong My village (Phong dien district, Thua Thien Hue province). A survey, findings of which is presented in this paper, was carried out by Thua Thien Hue sub department of forest protection in order to define distribution area of the pheasant species in the province. In the surveyed area the following species were found: (+) The white combed blue pheasant (Lophura edwardsi). (+) The white pheasant (Lophura nycthemera). (+) The yellow faced pheasant (Poly plectron bicalcaratum). (+) The coehin chine pheasant (Arborphila meslini). (+) The brown breasted pheasant (Arborophila brunnespectus).(+) The francolin (Francolinus pintadeanus). (+) Star pheasant (Rheinartia ocellata). It is recommended that a nature conservation area should be established at the west region of Phong Dien district.
