In the work there are presented and discussed the achieved results of the strategic project from the field of basic investigations, which was realized in the period 1996-2000. There is an overview of contemporary diagnostic methods and the means of controlling the diseases in domestic animals, researching etiology in reproduction disturbance in domestic animals, possibility of control, investigating the influence of harmful matters on animal health and health accuracy of food of animal origin and feed, the possibility of improving health protection of game, fur bearers, rabbits and bees and the investigation results in the effects of chemioterapeutics on biochemical parameters in the animals whose enlargement of fattening is of economic importance, improving meat quality and residue occurrence.
