Calcium is one of the important elements in plant nourishment. This paper deals with the contents of CaO in acid intrusive magmatic rocks in some localities in Serbia (Yugoslavia) and evaluates the content of CaO in these rocks as the parent rocks of forest soils, from the aspect of forest tree nourishment. The study results are as a contribution to the study of the potential of the above rocks as a source of calcium for the nourishment of forest trees, but they also have an application value, because they can be implemented by forestry experts, as one of the guidelines in silviculture.
