In the scope of two projects of the MRAC field work has been carried out in natural habitats in Kenya in order to collect among others Microlepidoptera. A preparation technique has been tested : killing the insects by immersing the vials with which they were caught in hot water; the preparation itself is carried out on microscopic slides transformed into setting boards. The Gracillariidae (leaf miners) were collected at the larval stage and reared in Petri dishes. The results were excellent.
