Klecker, D. | Zeman, L. (Mendelova Zemedelska a Lesnicka Univ., Brno (Czech Republic))
The effect of chelated manganese and zinc on egg production and eggshell quality was evaluated. Ninety-six ISA brown hens were fed (from 17 to 66 week of age) a compound feed with 20 or 40 % of manganese and zinc in chelated forms. In comparison with the use of inorganic minerals, the use of 20 or 40 % of chelated minerals led to a significantly higher egg production, eggshell strength, eggshell weight and thickness in comparison with the use of inorganic minerals. In comparison with the control feed, the use of 40 % of chelated minerals led also to a significantly higher egg weight and egg white weight.
