Hay, as a fuel does not contribute to increasing CO2 content of the atmosphere. Production of hay enables to make use of fields that have remained uncultivated (currently more than 200,000 ha in Estonia) and to increase employment of people in the rural areas. Hay from 1 ha contains approximately 20 MW-h of energy
