Technologies were generated and disseminated in vertisol areas on Ethiopia, for sustainable crop-livestock production. The study indicated that packages of vertisol technology were disseminated to the farmer through demonstration and popularization activities. Farmers' cooperatives, private farmers and other stakeholders were involved in the dissemination process. Most recently an approach known as client approach to technology dissemination has involved farmers at the grass root level, and Farmers' Research Group (FRG) were established to address various problems of the farmers. Watershed level at many crop varieties and resource management related technologies were demonstrated to solve the problems of the farmers. This approach somewhat is a new approach and helped on open up opportunities for researchers to work closely with farmers and refine technologies to fit into farmers priorities and problems.
