Characterization of the Pseudomonas savastanoi pv. forsythiae pv. nov. - a novel pathovar of knot disease bacterium
2003
Besenyei, E. | Hevesi, M.
Pseudomonas savastanoi is known to cause knot disease in Forsythia species in Hungary. The pathogen that has been isolated in our laboratory was found to be related to other knot disease causing Pseudomonas savastanoi pathovars from Europe. This new pathovar could not be assigned to any of the existing taxonomical groups because of its different pathogenicity. Based on biochemical, serological and pathological investigations the name Pseudomonas savastanoi pv. forythiae pv. nov. is proposed for the bacterium.
