Land size allocation and farm model were investigated in 17 provinces of transmigration areas involving 60 transmigration Settlement Units (UPT). UPT data were collected from UPT Development Data fiscal year 1998/1999. Six food crop commodities were selected. The results showed that average productivity of the six main food crops UPT with dry land (TPLK) and wet land (TPLB) patterns in provinces of transmigration area reasonably varies. Average productivity of the six food crop commodities UPT with TPLK and TPLB patterns (5th year) in transmigration area is generally lower than land size given to the transmigrant. Minimum land size has to be cultivated if transmigrant compulsary to cultivate rice is generally greater than minimum land size without compulsary to cultivate rice. If arable land restricted only one hectare per family, income targetted can be reached with farm optimalisation practices
