[Growth of three cultivars of chrysanthemum on cocopeat growing media]

Inglés. The aim of the research was to study the growth of three cultivars of pot chrysanthemum on cocopeat growing media. This experiment was conducted at the experimental garden Pesona Mas Asri at Bogor (approximately 1100 m from sea level) from February to May 1998. A factorial design was used in this experiment with three replications. The first factor was three cultivars: A. Reddelano, B. Redding and C. Miramar. The second factor was six growing media: 1. Cocopeat, 2. Soil + Rice husk (1:1 (v/v)), 3. Soil + Compost (1:1 (v/v)), 4. Soil + Carbonized Rice husk (1:1 (v/v)), 5. Cocopeat + Carbonized Rice husk (1:1 (v/v)) and 6. Cocopeat + soil (1:1 (v/v)). The result showed that Reddelano had the highest value on plant height, plant diameter and flower diameter were 35.85 cm; 41.85 cm and 10.62 cm respectively. On the other hand, Redding had the lowest on flower diameter which was 7.65 cm. Cocopeat media indicated the highest on flower number/pot and flower diameter which were 18.22 flowers and 10 cm respectively. Soil + Rice husk (1:1 (v/v)) indicated the lowest on flower number/pot and flower diameter which were 16.47 flowers and 8.88 cm respectively. But soil + compost indicated the lowest on plant height and plant diameter. Reddelano and Miramar growth on cocopeat indicated the highest on flower number/pot which were 17.22 and 20.29 flowers respectively

Percobaan dilaksanakan di kebun percobaan Pesona Gunung Mas Asri, Bogor dengan ketinggian kira-kira 1100 m dari permukaan laut dari bulan Pebruari sampai dengan Mei 1998. Percobaan menggunakan pola faktorial 2 faktor 3 ulangan. Faktor pertama, tiga kultivar krisan pot: A. Reddelano, B. Redding, dan C. Miramar. Faktor kedua, 6 perlakuan media tumbuh: 1. Curah sabut kelapa, 2. Tanah + sekam padi (1:1 (v/v)), 3. Tanah + kompos (1:1 (v/v)), 4. Tanah + arang sekam (1:1 (v/v)), 5. Curah sabut kelapa + arang sekam (1:1 (v/v)) dan 6. Curah sabut kelapa + tanah (1:1 (v/v)). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Reddelano mempunyai penampilan tinggi tanaman, diameter tajuk dan diameter bunga dengan nilai terbesar yaitu berturut-turut 35,85 cm, 41,85 cm dan 10,62 cm. Sedangkan Redding mempunyai diameter bunga terkecil yaitu 7,65 cm. Serbuk sabut kelapa menunjukkan jumlah bunga per pot dan diameter bunga dengan nilai terbesar yaitu 18,22 bunga dan 10,00 cm. Tanah + sekam padi (1:1 (v/v)) memberikan nilai jumlah bunga per pot dan diameter bunga terkecil yaitu masing-masing 16,47 bunga dan 8,88 cm. Sedangkan media tanah + kompos memberikan nilai tinggi tanaman dan diameter tanaman terkecil yaitu 33,07 cm dan 37,38 cm. Kultivar Reddelano dan Miramar yang menggunakan media serbuk sabut kelapa memberikan jumlah bunga per pot dengan nilai tertinggi yaitu masing-masing 17,22 bunga dan 20,29 bunga
