[Evaluation of potential possibility of energy efficiency in apartment buildings]

At present a big energy losses are one of characteristics of poor state of the apartment buildings in Latvia. Reduction of these losses is possible by thermal modernisation of buildings. A program called Energy Audit was worked out at the Institute of Physical Energetics of the Academy of Sciences of Latvia can be used for these purposes. This program is based on the thermal energy balance of a building and allows to calculate technical and economical characteristics of measures for thermal modernisation of a building's envelope components.
