Effect of different nitrogen levels (0, 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 35, and 40g/m- 2) with constant doses of phosphorous (10g/m-2) and potassium (10g/m-2) on Gaillardia pulchella (cv. Picta) was studied at the Agricultural Research Institute, Tarnab, Peshawar, Pakistan, during 2000-2001. Maximum days to flowering (117.7) were recorded in N+P+K (40 +10 +10g/m-2) while minimum days to flowering (88.3) were recorded in control treatment. Higher plant height (53.98 cm) was observed in plants supplied with N30 + P10 + K10 g/m-2 while minimum value for the parameter was 35.61 cm in control. Maximum number of flowers per plant (209.7 flowering period (185.3) and root weight (8.2g/plant) were recorded in treatment having N + P + K (20+10+10g/m-2). Minimum values for these parameters were 90, 145.3 and 5.233g respectively in control. Plants treated with N+P+K (25+10+10g/m-2) showed maximum plant survival (97.22 %).
