Effect of black medick and lucerne on the yield and crude protein content in pasture sward

The studies were carried out in 1994-97 on the cattle pasture. One experiment was located in dry habitat (black soil) and another one on peat-muck soil. In both experiments similar mixture combinations were used. Legumes and grasses in proportion 50:50 were sown in the mixtures composed of perennial ryegrass 30 percent, timothy 15 percent and cocksfoot 5 percent. Medicago lupulina and Medicago sativa were legume components. The aim of study was to evaluate yielding and crude protein concentration in the sward containing Medicago lupulina and Medicago sativa under various soil conditions
