Changes in vitamin C concentartion in potato tubers in relation to growth stages and NPK and Mg fertilization

The effect of increasing NPK rates on the content on vitamin C in potato tubers was studied in three field experiments in the interaction with soil or foliar magnesium application. The highest concentration of vitamin C was noted in young tubers just after flowering and the lowest - at potato harvest. The application of fertilizers decreased the concentration of vitamin C in tubers. A decrease in this paramater was the lowest in the samples taken before flowering and the highest - at full maturity.
