Okularczyk, S. (Institute of Zootechnics, Balice near Cracow (Poland). Dept. of Economics and Organization of Animal Production)
The high contribution of arable lands to the total area of agricultural lands in Poland seems to be one of the factors significantly increasing the cost of cattle production. Therefore there is a need to change the way of arable lands' use and transform them into grasslands. Lands utilized as meadows and pastures do not require high utilization level of technical means and thus the cost of fodder production is lower. The use of grasslands and increase of milk production will lead to higher economic efficiency of animal production
