[Morphological and histological changes of the digestive tract and swim bladder in pike-pearch larvae (Stizostedion lucioperca L.) during early organogenesis in the various rearing conditions]
2002
Ostaszewska, T.
The study was undertaken to evaluate the effects of some environmental factors on the pike-pearch larval development. An attempt was made to explain the causes of increased pike-pearch mortality during early organogenesis. The experiments carried out over three rearing seasons (1995-97) concerned the effects of temperature, water flow or aeration on larval development and morphological changes during ontogenesis, and on growth rate and survival of larvae. The results were verified using statistical analysis. The anatomical observations and survey of the changes taking place during larval development allowed to determine the probable causes of low pike-perch survival during that critical period
