A model experiment with Typha angustifolia L. confirmed an increased accumulation ability of plants at the three-fold concentration of nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium and the graded concentration of zinc ranging from 500 to 40,000 mg zinc in substrate. Analysis of nitrogen content in both the aboveground and underground organs showed minimal differences in distribution. The content of phosphorus and potassium was substantially higher in the underground organs. It was proved that there is a significant linear dependence between zinc concentration in the substrate and that in the plant. There was a negative correlation between the content of zinc in substrate and a rate of biomass formation. The plants accumulated zinc only at pH of 6.50 to 6.65. High accumulation of zinc was found in the underground organs
