In this study homeostatic abilities of environment were evaluated. There were monitored representatives of Carabidae (genus Coleoptera), a component of examined soil edaphon. This family like a bioindicator (with their abundance or absence) shows a loading of agroecosystems in this area. Gathering of biological material was realised in years 1999-2000 in Dolna Malanta (experimental base SPU Nitra, south-western part of the Slovak Republic). The altitude of this locality is 175-180 m. It is situated in warm climatic area (mean annual temperature 10 degree C) and in very dry climatic region (annual precipitation amount 561 mm). The soil is formed from loamy brown soil with low acid reaction and relative high content of available nutrients, with humus horizon A1 (granular loamy horizon). The epigeic component of animals was gained by method of ground traps, realised was during vegetation period (since April to October) in case of fallow system. There were three original variants (a,b,c) left in evaluated time by fallow: a - without mowing fallow; b - mowing fallow without removing of organic matter; c - mowing fallow with removing of organic matter; Evaluated parameters of family Carabidae: - total amount of epigeic material (abundance); - dominance (%);- species identity by Jaccard (IA); - density of dominance by Renkonnen (ID); - diversity degree by Shannon and Weaver altered by Schwerdtfeger; - total evaluation of species representation and their biodiversity. In case of three variants (in four repetitions) 55345 exemplars of soil edaphon were gained. From these rank among the family Carabidae 2687 exemplars were categorised in 32 species. Number of species on analysed variants was very stable - 23-24 species per variant. It shows an agreement between the variants by highlighting the homeostatic abilities of agroecosystems. The values of species identity IA was 62.07 - 84.63%, density of dominance ID fluctuated between 69.76 - 84.63 %. Values of diversity degree (d) was 1.5328 - 1.8027. Dominant representation in all three variants has Harpalus rufipes (De Geer, 1774). Obtained results shows at similarly species composition of compared zoocoenose and good balanced homeostatic environmental conditions
