Cytogenetic control of the cows on the farms in the region of bombing in FR Yugoslavia

The aim of this investigation was to discover if there are some harms on the chromosomes in the animals that were in the area of harmful matters that appeared in buring of petrol. A group of 30 cows was chosen on the farm that is 5 km away from the Novi Sad refinery (Serbia, Yugoslavia) where an enormous quantity of toxical gases and soot was released. The second group consisted of 30 cows on the farm 70 km away from the refinery. The control group, consisting of 60 cows, was analyzed in the previous year. The cytogenetic attestation has been done according to the modified method of Mooarhed and et al. and by the technique of G-banding according to Seabright et al. 1971 the karyotype of all the animals was analyzed according to the international standards for karyotypization of domestic animals - ISCNDA 1989. In the first experimental group tree animals were discovered with structural and numerical changes type aneuploidy and type brake on q-arm. In the second and the control group cytogenetic finding was normal 2n=60 XX.
