This paper discusses the analyzes of fattening abilities, that is, meat production traits in 96 kids of domestic Balkan goats. They were kept in four herds each numbering 24 heads. The ratio between females and males was 50:50. They were slaughtered at the age of 90 days. The goal was to determine differences among the examined herds concerning the quantitative traits of the kids meat. Within the scope of these studies, the following was measured: variations in the body mass of the kids during fattening, losses in the body mass during transportation and fasting and the total efficiency of slaughter as well. Better nutrition of kids during fattening (the second and fourth herds) was considerably beneficial and resulting in higher daily weight gains and greater body mass in kids at the age of 90 days.
