Water reservoir "Bovan" is a drinking-water source for Aleksinac town and some surrounding places. Since its first intended purpose had not been drinking water supplying, water reservoir had not been formed in the medically acceptable ways. It is situated between roads, close to agricultural fields, as well as to weekend houses, which do not have adequate sewerage system. Moravica river - which makes the water reservoir in question - has also been contaminated with many contaminants with different way-making. Wastewaters of Soko Banja present a dominant contaminating source for both the river and water reservoir. Through sublimation of retrospective and prospective examinations this paper presents quality degradation of both kinds of superficial waters in physico-chemical, bacteriological and toxicological meanings. Differences in contamination level - water quality - has also been determined on different spots for water sampling. It has been noticed as especially important for water reservoir, which water quality on the first sampling spot has been the most deeply degraded. For each degradation over legal water-kinds limit, the most possible reasons of contamination have been determined. Attention has been especially paid to heavy metals and pesticide residues. According to Preventive medicine laws, tha author gives a list suggesting how to cure the water reservoir "Bovan" and Moravica river.
