The aim of this work was to study effect of the weight of one-day chicks on body weight of broilers at various age. At the broiler farms A, B, and C in three independent production cycles lasting six weeks (42 days) were produced broilers Arbor Acres, Hybro and ISA-30. The day-old chicks were individually wingbanded and weighted every week till 42nd day of age. Average body weight of day-old chicks for all strains was 40.97 g, and for six week broilers 1878.19 g. The regression coefficients (b) for all chick varied from 0.805 (the first week) till 17699 (the 6th week) and correlation coefficient (2) was the highest in the fourth week. It was concluded that from practical standpoint the starting and the final body weight of fattening chickens are not in so direct relation on the individual level, but they are on the group (flock) level.
