Comparative investigation of methods on herpesvirus 1 spreading among buffalo herd in Bulgaria

After performing comparative investigation of 189 buffalo serum samples by MVNT and blocking elisa tests it was determined that positive by MVTN were 51 samlpes (26,9) and by elisa 60 (31,7) samples. After using non parametric Mann-Witney U test higher sensitivity of elisa blocking test was determined in comparison with MVTN (p0,001) for 41 sera. After performing non parametric correlation analysis of Spearman non lineal correlation of data obtained by MVTN and elisa test were determined. The performed investigation showed wide distribution of herpes virus 1 among buffalo herds in five Bulgarian regions.
