The effect of density of seeding on the growth abilities of carp breeding material was studied. All the experimental seeding were stocked with homogenous carp material of average initial weight of 0.9 g. It was found that increasing the density of seeding had a negative effect on the live weight growth rate of the one year old carp. The same correlation was observed in regard of the linear measurements of the fish. On rearing of carp in net cages the liveability of fish was similar for the three densities - over 95%, the highest - 97% - being for the fish reared at a density of seeding of 300 fish/m3. Increasing the number of the reared fish per volume unit did not have a negative effect. On rearing of carp in fish tanks in cooling basins, it is possible to use densities of 300 to 500 fish/m3.
