The aim of the research was to examine the influence of different variants and strains of diazotrophs on the nitrogen content in the plant and soil with different varieties of barley. On the basis of obtained results it can be concluded that the examined varieties and strains of diazotrophs had different influence on the content of nitrogen in barley and in the soil. On average, the most significant influence was that upon Jelen variety, then Milan variety, while the least significant was on Victor variety. Every examined variant and strain of diazotrophs had, mostly, positive influence on the increase of the content of nitrogen in the above ground part of a plant and its root as well as in the soil where the plants have been grown. Different influence of diazotrophs is the result of the existence of a particular relationship between the varieties of barley and specific variants and strains of diazotrophs.
