This paper presents a 5-year study results concerning the degree of rooting of cane tips in blackberry cv. Thornfree as affected by time, the burying mode and position of buds on the main cane. Shoot tip layering resulted in significantly better and higher quality rooted layers in comparison with the variant without burying, i.e. spontaneous falling of one-year-old shoots to the ground. The most optimal date of tip burying was late August to mid-September at the latest.
