Every landscape has a specific structure reflecting its formation and development. The landscape structure is determined by the age, geological-geomorphologic features, climatic conditions and the resultsnt hydrological regime of the locality and the character of soil and vegetation. The diversity of landscapes depends also on human activities, mainly on the methods and intensity of land use. The use of coastal landscapes has been very different, depending on their natural potential. Based on these features, we may distinguish series of ecosystems characterising landscapes. In this paper our attention is focused on Estonian coastal dune landscape, which are clearly differentiated from other coastal geosystems
