The objective of this work was to determine the macro- and micro-mineral concentration of natural pasture around Bako Research Center as influenced by season and location. Forage samples were collected for both wet and dry seasons from four locations around Bako Research Center. The samples were analyzed for P,K, Ca, Mg, Min, Cu, Zn and Fe. Analysis of variance revealed significant effect of season for P (p0.01) and Ca (p0.001). Effect of season was significant only for Cu (p0.05) and Zn (p0.05). The present study revealed that concentration of Cu, Mn and Fe in the natural pasture around Bako is adequate and deficiency is not likely to occur during both dry and wet seasons. However, the concentration of P and Cu was generally low during the dry season, K during the wet season and Mg in both seasons. The conceniration of Zn was deficient during both seasons and the level was found to be lower than the critical ones. At all sites, P and K concentration was deficient. The Ca content was not below the normal range that appears in the literature at all sites. The same was also true for Mn, Fe and Cu. Lower Zn concentration than the recommended critical levels was observed at all sites.
