Canna hybrida is an ornamental plants originated from tropical country. As a mass flower, high number of Canna hybrida plantlets and homogen are really needed. Medium is one of factors which influences plant tissue culture succeeded. Plant micropropagation can be used either in solid or liquid medium. The application of "Bioagar" purified by BPPT has been examined as solid matter to several plants in vitro, such as Chrysanthemum morifolium, (daisy) and potato (Solanum tuberosum L.). In addition it was tried to kana plants (Canna hybrida Hort) on buds medium by in vitro. Result indicated that the highest buds was on 0.7 percent concentration, although it was not significant to the bioagar concentration on rate 0.55 percent to 0.65 percent. The best gel strength to grow is the lowest gel strength rate on Agar 4 (The rate of gel strength is 112.865 gr/square cm). The possibilities are that Canna hybrida did not need a high gel strength and need light intensity to shoot to the other plants
