2001
Poonkodi, A.A. | Manikandan, P.S.(Annamalai University, Tamil Nadu (India). Department of Soil Science and Agricultural Chemistry)
A pot culture experiment was conducted with green gram on a medium phosphate sandy loam soil having pH 7.3, EC 1.0 dSrrr1, Total N 0.07%, Total P 0.11, Total K 0.45% and organic C 0.23% in a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with 6 treatments viz., T0, TM, Tw, TM, T,,, and Tro replicated five times. The results clearly revealed that the green gram crop responds to the application of phosphorus upto 60 kg P2O5 ha*1. The existing practice of applying 50 kg P2O5 ha~' should be altered to 60 kg P2OS ha ' for higher grain yields and protein content.
