Recovery and transfer of embryos in black bengal goats
2001

There are a number of studies on embryo transfer (ET) following superovulatory treatment with leutolytic and then leutotrophic agents, thereby involving greater use of exogenous hormones in animals. Studies on small ruminanats with minimised treatment regime and utilising the natural oestrous potentials can reduce the cost of ET. Moreover, it can also serve as a model for a less oestrus manipulative and effective study in wild animals facing extinction. Thre present study was hence carried out in Black Bengal goat donors to explore the response to PMSG and hCG injected within their natural oestrous cycle and transfer of the embryos in the naturally synchronous recipients of Black Bengal goats.
